M-way crash woman improves

A COCKERMOUTH pensioner who was involved in a four-car motorway pile a month ago, is out of intensive care.

Dianna Harrold, 65, of Simonscales Lane, was driving her motor home from Wales where she attended a dog show with her dog Taz, when she smashed through the central barrier of the M6 near Warrington colliding with three other cars.

A 31-year-old man from Manchester was killed, and another man was injured in the crash, which closed the motorway for six hours.

Mrs Harrold suffered serious leg and chest injuries in the crash and was fighting for her life in intensive care at Wythenshawe hospital, Manchester.

A spokeswoman for Wythenshawe hospital, Manchester said last night that her condition is stable and improving and she has been moved on to a ward.

Taz, an eight-year-old Samoyed, shown as Marshmallow Ice at Roslune was put down at the scene.
