Aaron lands Junior TKM event from pole position

By Martin Morgan

WIGTON’S Aaron Mansergh converted pole position to a Junior TKM win ahead of a posse of county karting rivals at Rowrah.

Matt Grierson, from Workington, won the scrap for second-place ahead of Frizington’s Ryan Kenmare and Dalton’s Lewis Raine.

Maryport’s Emmerson Armstrong claimed a gutsy third place in Comer Cadet ahead of Carnforth’s Liam Murphy and Abbie Carruthers, from Workington.

The 2006 Racing for Buttons winner, Kieron Bowness, was sixth overall and first novice, for the third meeting running.

Matthew Graham from the North East took the chequered flag ahead of Dalton’s Oliver Raine.

Shanade Gress finished third in Junior Rotax, while another Seaton racer Russell Walsh was runner-up in the Rotax 177s, for larger drivers. He started on pole but found Brian Parias, from Buckinghamshire, racing at Rowrah for the first time in 25 years, too quick on the day. Lucas Orrock from Devon finished third.

Rotax Max saw drivers looking to get in practice for the upcoming championship meeting.

Tom Arme, from Staffordshire, and Cheshire’s James Duxbury headed up the pack, which contained Cockermouth’s David Simpson.

Moving well through the field was Scotland’s Andrew Harvie, until a collision with Yorkshireman James Greenway put both out of the race. Whitehaven’s Ryan Cooper claimed sixth place.
