Penrith skipper in frame

PENRITH TOWN boss Dave Heslop is expected to rotate his championship winning squad ahead of tomorrow’s final home game against Stokesley.

The Blues were crowned Northern Two champions on Tuesday night after an emphatic 6-1 away win at North Shields.

Skipper Phil Thornton is in contention to make his first appearance for four months after a frustrating spell on the sidelines with a shin injury, while Karl Jackson could also step up his comeback after a long injury lay-off.

“It doesn’t reallly matter what we do now,” said Heslop. “We’ve achieved our objective which was to get promoted.”
