Dundee United could throw highly-rated Gretna keeper Greg Fleming a lifeline.
The 20-year-old, who was thrown in at the deep end for Gretna’s turbulent top-flight campaign after the Black and Whites failed to sign a senior keeper last summer, has been one of the few success stories this season.
Fleming, right, will leave Raydale Park this summer when his contract expires and UEFA Cup hopefuls Dundee United have already inquired about him.
League One outfit Crewe are also monitoring the youngster, who won a Scotland U21 call-up earlier this season, along with his old boss Davie Irons, now at Morton.
Fleming has kept back-to-back clean sheets in Gretna’s goalless draws with St Mirren and Falkirk, but ironically faces the axe when the relegated side travels to Kilmarnock today as boss Mick Wadsworth wants to give on-loan Birmingham City keeper Artur Krysiak a chance.
