Bowe third in Ainsdale Bowl

Workington golfer Will Bowe finished third in Saturday’s Southport and Ainsdale Bowl, five shots behind winner John Carroll.
Bowe added a second-round 68 to his opening score of 72 for a total of 140.
His new Cumbria team-mate, Walker Cup legend Gary Wolstenholme who represents Kendal club Carus Green, was three shots further back in sixth spot.
Carlisle’s Nicky Bell was the top-placed Cumbrian in the Formby Hare, finishing tied seventh with a two-round total of 150. He finished eight shots behind winner James Robinson, who took pole position in the Mitsushiba Northern Order of Merit after winning the Formby Hare the day after finishing runner-up in the Southport and Ainsdale Bowl at his home club.
