Land raises £6k an acre

A SMALL piece of land near Bowness-on-Solway sold for £6,000 an acre at auction.
The 4.5-acre parcel of land sold for £27,000 while a 5.6-acre plot near Port Carlisle sold for £28,000 to local farmers.
Land near Thornthwaite, Wigton, also sold during the sale conducted by Hopes of Wigton. The 12-acre piece of land, including a small broad-leaved woodland, sold for £44,000.
