A cook at a Cumbrian railway station has an extra reason to pass her driving test after winning a new VW Beetle.
Shocked: Emma Raine forgot all about her entry until she heard she’d won
Emma Raine from railway café and restaurant, Brief Encounter in Langwathby, won the brand new Beetle in a hot chocolate competition.
She beat off 11,000 other entries to win the car, courtesy of the Aero Hot Chocolate promotion.
“I was shell-shocked to discover I had won the car – it sounds like a cliché but it’s something you think will never happen to you,” she said.
“I simply went online and entered the code from a tin and forgot all about it – until I got the call telling me I had won.”
Brief Encounter owner Gordon Edgar said he was thrilled at Emma’s win.
