A MAN arrested on suspicion of assaulting a female traffic warden on Carlisle’s busiest shopping street has been released without charge.
Prosecutors have decided to take no further action against the 37-year-old after he was held following an allegation he attacked a parking attendant.
The man was due to answer bail after being arrested last month.
But a force spokeswoman said: “After consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service there is to be no further action on this case.”
Police confirmed they are not looking for anybody else in connection with the incident.
The man had been arrested following allegations a traffic warden had been assaulted as she ticketed a motorcycle on English Street on Friday, August 15 at 4pm.
The Crown Prosecution Service decides if prosecutions should be pursued.
