An art lecturer from the University of Cumbria has been invited to exhibit in a prestigious national show, which will be touring the UK and Ireland until the end of November.
Senior lecturer Raymond Honeyman will be exhibiting his textile designs as part of the Knitting and Stitching Show at the NEC in Birmingham until September 14; Alexandra Palace in London, October 9 to 12; Royal Dublin Society in Dublin, October 30 November 2 and the International Centre in Harrogate, November 20 to 23.
The exhibitions came about after Raymond published a book A Passion for Painting Pattern: the textile designs of Raymond Honeyman, on his art, design technique and inspirations.
Raymond has worked as a professional designer for companies including Viyella and has also worked freelance for many years. His designs for printed textiles have been bought by companies based in the UK, New York and Europe. He creates his designs with meticulous attention to detail and craft.
The exhibition is sponsored by Ehrman Tapestry, Twisted Thread, and the University of Cumbria.
