Top class efforts are honoured at college

ACHIEVEMENT was celebrated at Solway Community Technology College at its annual prize giving.
Prizes were awarded across all subjects and included the Silloth Carnival Committee religious education prize won by Mitchell Robinson in Year seven and the Carrs Flour Mills Ltd English prize won by Rebecca Sim in Year eight.
The Year nine art prize went to Bradley Johnstone, Spar progress to Jade Shaw in Year 10 and the Cumberland Building Society maths prize won by Anthony Carter, Year 11.
Daniel Lettice and Zoe Mathews won governors’ prizes for excellence.
David Allen, of David Allen & Co Chartered Accountants, was guest speaker – a former Solway pupil, now chief executive and finance director at Carlisle United Football Club.
Solway headteacher Susie Shepherd said: “This is one of the most enjoyable events of the school calendar.”
