Deserving heroes

Unsung heroes whose voluntary or community work makes a big difference to others will be celebrated at the first Cumbria Community Awards on Thursday, organised by Cumbria County Council. As services diminish, isolated towns and villages struggle to survive. But these awards confirm that there’s still plenty of community spirit around.
